The project was proposed \u00a0by Wikipedia Community User Group of Greece<\/a> and is supported actively by the Municipality of Thessaloniki and Yiannis Boutaris<\/a> himself, voted as world\u2019s\u2019 number 8 best mayor<\/a> by the independent \u201cCity Mayors Foundation\u201d (2015). The project will be implemented in cooperation with PostScriptum <\/a>(Greece\u2019s premier on cultural digital consulting), Greek Free Open Source Society<\/a> (GFOSS), volunteer organisations (more than 2,000 volunteers that have participated in the thessaloniki youth capital during 2014) and platforms as well as higher education institutes and all major Museums and Libraries and Archives of the city. All stakeholders have already been engaged into discussion and collaboration and are planning concrete actions to be implemented. Once the project is finalized, neighboring and other international Wikipedia chapters or user groups will be included in order to expand the outreach of the project.<\/p>\n
